About Barbara Edie
Travel Leader – Author – Explorer
Barbara Edie is transformational travel leader and best-selling author of Creating the Impossible: What it takes to bring your vision to life. An experienced global explorer, she loves to guide people on both inner and outer journeys.
Barbara personally designs and leads small group tours in Africa and Europe, using travel as a powerful way to leave the familiar and embrace the unknown with curiosity and wonder.
These calls to adventure become catalysts for participants to fall in love with the unknown rather than fear it. They learn to access an inner ‘knowing’and trust their heart’s guidance to discover new experiences, deep insights, and ways of being.
As one client said: “I loved witnessing everyone’s wonder including my own. I learned to trust myself even when met with resistance. I learned that my adventure pathways are alive and thriving, and yearning for more.”
Immersed in spectacular natural and wildlife settings, these journeys make space for the world to show you its magic.
Described by others as a “Sherpa for your soul,” Barbara is known for her calm presence, grounded energy, and intuitive wisdom. As a woman who climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro at age 55, has come face to face with Silverback Gorillas in Uganda, and travelled to 45 countries (often solo) she believes there is nothing more life-changing, and magical, than embodying your true nature and soul’s purpose.
In addition to her writing, intuitive teaching, and extensive travel, Barbara draws from her own transformational experiences and more than 35 years of study and training in the mind, body, and spirit world.
Barbara’s professional background includes a previous career as a pediatric nurse working with premature and sick newborns, as well as chronically ill adolescents. Intuitively guided to pursue other passions, she went on to attain a Master of Arts in Journalism and become a freelance writer, travel and lifestyle magazine editor, and published author. She lives on Vancouver Island, on Canada’s magnificent west coast.
