It’s not what the vision is it’s what the vision does. – Peter Senge.
When people choose to create what they love it usually serves the highest good for themselves and all those they influence. That’s certainly what I’ve discovered on the journey to realizing my latest vision, publishing my book Creating the Impossible.
It’s not about how big your vision is it’s about how true and authentic an expression of you it is. Your vision then can become a force for change, and a way of aligning your actions with your soul path’s unfolding. When you operate from this point of view, what happens may not be exactly as you imagined, but what happens might otherwise not have happened at all.
In my case, I believe Creating the Impossible is the book I came to the planet to write … and an important part of why I’m here.
Why do I say that? Because even before the book was published, in the process of writing it, including the people I met and interviewed as well as putting my own stories into print, I realized not only do I have the ability to connect the dots to create amazing experiences and manifest seemingly impossible things but I also inspire and liberate others to do the same. In the pursuit of my own dream, what the vision does is offer courage, incite possibility, and move others to take real action.
Here’s what following my vision has created before and after the book’s publication.
- On Sept. 25, 2016 I reached the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain, fulfilling a personal dream while raising thousands of dollars to support some abandoned kids in Kenya who needed a loving home and a chance for an education.
- On Mt. Kilimanjaro, a young man from Tanzania asked me about my book and after hearing what it was about asked me to help him create his dream. I sent him the manuscript. He now awaits the print book and plans to inspire more self-awareness in Africa through his own business and life.
- The principles in “Creating the Impossible” are being considered as part of a new curriculum for a school in Africa to teach children a mindset that will empower them to create what they love from a young age! Imagine the ‘ripple effect’ of that in their lives and communities!
- My book became a bestseller on Amazon before it was officially released.
- Reviewers have called the book “life-altering, “soul-shaking,” “compelling,” and “the antidote for a small, uninspired life.”
- One reviewer said: “I’ve read a lot of books that offer roadmaps to becoming a better person—that give you steps to FOLLOW. This book is different. The stories show you how people changed their lives by seeing what mattered most to them, and found the tools to LEAD a fulfilling life. This book helped me discover things about myself no other book has.”
- Four colleagues have asked me to help them write their ‘soul-inspired’ books and get them published.
- Inspired by me climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro, a good friend of mine is going to climb Africa’s highest mountain in 2018 – she’ll be 58.
- Another friend, recovering from a serious car accident, plans to leave her government job to pursue something more meaningful that will feed her soul and leave a legacy that matters.
- A close friend and colleague is coming to Kenya with me next year, where we will co-create something ‘impossibly wild and inspiring.’ Stay tuned.
- I will be returning to Africa in 2017, for the fourth time in less than two years, specifically to Kenya to meet the children at Kipchamgaa Children’s Home, whom I’ve raised money to support both by climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro and through proceeds from my book sales.
- In Kenya, I already have a place to stay, near the beach, on the country’s stunning coastline.
This what happens when you follow your heart’s truth and soul’s calling—the path unfolds, magical experiences occur, and you are now LIVING your dream.
If you’re on your path, doing what you love, things come to you that seem like timely surprises and happy or lucky coincidences. I don’t believe in luck or coincidences; I believe in synchronicity. When you’re letting your heart lead and your soul drive, everything you need appears in divine timing. And on your road to self-discovery you might also achieve things that would have never been achieved otherwise. #genius #brilliant
