Happy Summer Solstice.

I have just returned from a whirlwind European holiday of five weeks in five countries, exploring the history, sites (and food!) with local friends in almost every location. It was a full-on agenda and flurry of delights…so many beautiful connections and so much love, given and received.

Now I am home, and I could really use a vacation.

All joking aside, it’s summer and my quiet little island in the Pacific is my favourite spot to be. It is the perfect time and place to pause, breathe, and simply do nothing.

What? Do nothing?

Yes, in fact, that was the one, specific action item on a recent call with a women’s group I belong to, Women Travel Leaders (WTL). The instruction was “to block time out on your calendar for YOU… preferably to do nothing.” That or at least relax and do something that lights you up.

So many people in my sphere of friends, family, and colleagues are currently navigating big changes, in their health, work, and creating the life they want to live. These are transitional and often turbulent times.

In our busy lives, that are largely over-scheduled and under-enjoyed, people tend to underestimate the power of taking a break. Making space to rest, relax, and reset.

Here’s what I know for sure.

Taking time off, in the summer or anytime, allows life (and productivity) to move at its own rhythm. The slower pace and unforced nature of more being and less doing generates a kind of creative vortex. It opens up space for …

  • Inspiration,
  • Imagination,
  • Decisions that feel right… in the body, heart and soul.

Fresh ideas come from fresh minds.

New solutions and unexpected opportunities appear when you “slow down to move ahead.”

On that note, I have decided to postpone the Wild Rwanda Tour, September 1-10, 2024, to June 2025 (exact dates TBA). This will allow space for others to join us, slightly adjust the itinerary to make it even better, and add an optional excursion to Zanzibar.

However, the 10-day Mystic Peru Tour Oct. 17-26, in the heart of the sacred valley of the Incas, is very much a go!

If you are intrigued by the energy and ancient wisdom of Machu Picchu, a trek on horseback to a sacred lake in the Andes, and time with shamans, then this journey to Peru is for you. At $3500 USD for accommodation, meals, and activities, it is an amazing opportunity.

If you are ready for time away somewhere extraordinary, to free your mind and expand your soul, join us on an upcoming adventure.

In the meantime, find time this summer for YOU, whatever that looks like.

And remember, “doing nothing” can change everything.

I am taking a summer break and will be back in September with an update on new adventures and special offers.

With love,

Be well.
