Falling in love with the unknown

Hello friends and hello 2023!

Welcome to a fresh start in a brand new year, and where anything is possible.

While some start the year with resolutions (so yesterday), intentions, or a “word of the year” to set the tone for the next 12 months, I’m going with a theme for 2023: Embrace the unknown… and I can’t wait to see what unfolds.

“In the fresh new moment of the unknown, we’re able to conceive of a new outcome—and calmly bring it into being,” as Dr. Joe Dispenza recently said.

I love the essence of this, especially the idea of “calmly bringing it into being.”

Imagine creating what we love in the New Year from that space and energy.

The last few years have given us plenty of practice living in the unknown, however, I’ve actually started to fall in love with it as a creative and life-renewing force.

From the space of the unknown, all things are possible…if we can find the presence to simply be with it.

A few years ago, falling in love with the unknown led me to fall in love with Africa. I took an unexpected and unplanned trip to Swaziland to do some writing and personal development with author and creative genius William Whitecloud. Speaking of the unknown, I had never met William nor read any of his books, before I travelled halfway around the world to attend his training.

Yet that experience and the incredible people I connected with there, opened a portal of possibility.

Since that original trip, I’ve now been to nine African countries on several magical adventures including climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro, teaching and living with the Maasai people in Kenya (I loved that!), and multiple awe-inspiring safaris.

So in 2023, I plan to share my passion for Africa and take a small group of soulful travellers on an adventure into the unknown in the world’s oldest desert—in Namibia. The “Magic of Namibia” 11-day tour will take place in late September, and is just one of the creations I intend to “calmly bring into being” this year. More details to follow about this grand adventure in the coming weeks.

And how about You?

What can you embrace in this mysterious place of the unknown and bring into being this year?

I’d love to hear what you and your heart are creating in 2023?

I’ll leave you with this message that sits on my desk: Embrace the unknown and it will embrace you.

With love and an adventurous spirit,
Barbara
