What are you building in 2020?

Whoa, we are now not only sliding into a new year, but a new decade! One that feels important, futuristic, visionary.

Are you ready for 2020?

What are you envisioning for this turning point in your future…and perhaps the world’s?

We visualize our future so we can do something about it.

Decisions determine destiny. As well as our heart and mind aligned to move our visions forward.

During my recent “Design Your New Dream” in Mallorca, one of the experiences I chose to inspire the group to tap into their hearts and envision possibilities was a visit to one of Spain’s most spectacular cathedrals.

The Cathedral of Mallorca dates back to 1229. Construction of this Gothic wonder began in the 13th century and was not completed until the 17th century. That was not a “five-year plan,” it was a 400-year plan!

Just consider the VISION and alignment of hearts, minds, and souls it took to create this amazing structure of light, space, and 21 chapels (!) that stretches the limits of architecture and the imagination.

Our visit to the Cathedral of Mallorca reminded me of this powerful allegory.

An architect sees three bricklayers who are working and asks: “What are you doing?”

The first worker replies, “I’m breaking rocks.”
The second one says, “I’m laying bricks and building walls.”
And the third answers, “I’m building a cathedral to inspire people and to create something extraordinary.”

That’s the choice we have in building our dreams, which of course determines our lives and what’s possible for our future and generations to come.

What are you building in 2020?

Only you can define that vision.

Until you clarify, focus, and act on it you will not create the results—or future—you are seeking.

If you have a bold vision for 2020 (And why wouldn’t you?) you must anchor yourself in “cathedral building” for it to unfold.
