Wow. What an interesting week it’s been. In my last blog post the subject line read: “It’s time to tell the truth.”
The next day Oprah gave a life-changing speech at the Golden Globe Awards and said: “What I know for sure is that speaking your truth is the most powerful tool everyone has.” That quote went viral.
Truth, feminine power, and the fire within have awakened a global force for change.
So what does that mean for you?
Well, back to the power of speaking your truth—and living it.
I recently met a shining example of a woman doing just that who had a big impact on me –not just in shining her own light, but also how she helped me reveal mine.
Regina Akhankina is a master photographer and so much more.
She is a bringer of the light.
Here’s one of my favourite shots (which you may have seen on Instagram) that Regina recently took of me. There were many good ones, but every time I look at this one I smile and think, Wow, this is really ME… playful, bright-eyed, soft and strong, a lover of life, beauty… and big hats.
When I met Regina for my photo session I commented on how she “transforms” women of any age to look simply gorgeous.
“I don’t transform anyone,” she said. “I just reveal the beauty that’s already there.”
That statement went straight to my heart. “I REVEAL the beauty that’s already there.” She see’s the light within and amplifies it with her natural talent, skills, and her own inner lens.
Regina is so-o-o in her truth she captures the essence and inner beauty, or what I like to call the “inner goddess,” of every woman she photographs. (And she makes men look good, too.)
